Bobby Jones' platform is simple: Preserving Fayette County's uniqueness while preparing for our future.
Proper Governance:
County commissioners should be held accountable to the people they serve. It’s not enough to approve projects, tax laws, and zoning requests. Fayette County citizens demand and deserve proper oversight and transparency when it comes to their taxpayer dollars. Situations like the new Fayette County Animal Shelter would have never happened if proper oversight by the Board of Commissioners had occurred.
Maintaining Fayette County’s rural suburban environment is vital. That means preserving the beautiful and historic areas around the county while advancing forward economically. Fayette County is unique in its rural/metropolitan balance; it's a primary reason why people move to Fayette County and it must be maintained. Economic opportunities will continue to present themselves to the citizens of Fayetteville County but county leadership must heed the opinions of the resident; not all money is good money for our community.
Safety is paramount for Fayette County's prosperity. An advocator for equipping police and first responders with everything needed to keep this community secure. Bobby is a big believer of ensuring adequate resources and continuous training.
We must maintain that Fayette County is a safe and welcoming environment for all residents.
Mismanagement of resources has plagued our county, and it's time for a change. Recent issues, such as the overbudget and delayed construction of the animal shelter, highlight the need for better oversight and accountability. As one of your commissioners, I will fight to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely, with a focus on transparency, accountability, and integrity. Together, we can put an end to government waste and build a more efficient and effective Fayette County.
Bobby Jones, a Fayetteville native, is a distinguished candidate running for Fayette County Commissioner District 2. His commitment to service along with his deep roots in the community only sharpened his vision for the county's future.
After graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 2001, Bobby served as a Global War on Terrorism veteran, achieving command in the United States Navy, and completing 22 years of commissioned service, retired.
Growing up in Fayette County was considered the premium in lifestyle, friendly folks, and a sense of ruralness; a place Bobby always knew he would come back to and raise a family. Finally coming home, Bobby found there were many suburban changes to his beloved Fayette County. What’s happened and why? It became obvious when attending the Commissioners meetings.

Bobby and his wife Lauren are proud parents of two daughters and are members of Leadership Georgia Class of 2023.
